The Secret!

This past Sunday we coverd something pretty serious.  Contrary to certain beliefs, people who have repented of their sins and have been saved by the grace of God CAN fall away God (Hebrews 3:13, 2:1).  This meaning that they will not enter into the kingdom of heaven after death. They will go to hell (Matthew 7:21-23)

However! Paul has given us the SECRET to stay strong. To not fall away

Don’t be Distracted by the World

2 Timothy 2:4 says, “No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs—he wants to please his commanding officer”

If a soldier gets distracted by the civilian affairs then he will lose tract of his mission. The job given down by the commander will go unfinished. Paul tells Timothy to be like a good soldier and not to get distracted by the things of the world. It is extremely easy for us all to get distracted. We get distracted by things like PS3 or X360’s. We get distracted by Cell phones and Tv. We get distracted by friends and family.  But we can not let those stand between us and our Mission (Matthew 28:16-20)

Got to follow the Rule book

2 Timothy 2:5 says, “if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor’s crown unless he competes according to the rules.”

This next secret to keeping your walk is very simple. If you follow the rule book, (the Bible) then you’ll be good. If  I cheat at basket ball, even though i might have scored the most points, because i didn’t follow the rules i won’t be deemed the winner.

Practice what you Preach

2 Timothy 2:6 says, “The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops.” If you are going to tell people that they should live right for God… Then you need to be doing the same. If you’re not then that’s called hypocrisy.

  1. For we have become partakers of Christ, IF we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end. Hebrews 3:14
You quoted Hebrews 3:13, just wondering your thoughts on verse 14. Much love bro and your blog looks really good my friend.

  2. that If makes that verse a conditional statement. Take into context of the previous verse where the writer (whom tradition states to be Paul) is directly putting responsibilities on the believers you find verse 14 to be a continuation. Not saying that we are saved by works by any means we are saved by grace and grace alone. However the writer does appear to be saying that it is up to you the believer to make the conscious choice to walk in that grace responsibly.

It is not God’s fault if a person who is a believer falls into sin. It is the person’s fault. They allowed their “spiritual guard” to come down. Now to what point does a person sin to the point of no return? Well i don’t know. I have not found in scripture the exact point of return but i do believe that there is one.

Thanks for the question bro and thanks for the props on the blog.

    Peace and Love,
